Hi,

I'm Ashley LaFrance, a graphic designer based in Denver, Colorado. My work is deeply rooted in my upbringing in the Nevada desert and my cultural heritage—Viva la Raza! I’m at my best when designing with my headphones on, jamming to pop-punk, and sipping on iced Americanos.

In my current role in corporate design, I have the opportunity to work on diverse projects while also volunteering my design skills for community initiatives. I’m passionate about accessible design and focused on learning how to create experiences that are inclusive for everyone, no matter how they access the web. I strongly believe, much like the Constructivists, that design should uplift and support communities, adding value to the collective whole.

As a Communication Design graduate from MSU-Denver, I’m grateful for the foundation my professors gave me in design theory and history. Their teachings about the pioneers of the industry have shaped my approach to design. During my BFA studies, I also developed a deep love for Art History, and the perspectives shared by my professors have enriched my work and my worldview.

My current projects are centered on the idea of social responsibility in design. I’m continuously inspired by artists and designers, both past and present, who use their work to contribute to the collective good. I'm especially influenced by those who create for the community, much like the women of the Bauhaus, whose legacy continues to inspire my work today.
